Episode: First season, Pilot; Second season, Episode 11 Significance: Above Twin Peaks is a very large lake called Black Lake, and small lakes called Pearl Lakes. These lakes are known for some of the best fishing in the United States. Many of the townspeople enjoy fishing for sport, relaxation, and as a means of supplying a delicious meal. Pete Martell was going fishing the morning he found Laura's body. Cooper was going to take advantage of some vacation time to go steelhead trout fishing, using a fishing fly called a Green Butt Skunk. Unfortunately, the fishing trip was cut a little short when Major Briggs, who had invited Cooper to join him, disappeared.
